Meet Your Therapist at a Trailhead
In most cases, Boulder Emotional Wellness therapists are willing and able to work with clients in natural settings. Boulder offers a wealth of open space and trails where the natural setting can complement the therapeutic process. Talk to your therapist about these opportunities.
Rites of Passage
Boulder Emotional Wellness has offered Rites of Passage experiences in wilderness settings. These trips are typically for clients with an existing relationship with the clinic, either through individual, couples, or family therapy. A Rite can mark a moment in time of importance, such as a relationship transition, an anniversary of a loss, or a major life change. While many sorts of activities can be included, a “solo” is usually the heart of a Rite. Please ask your BEW therapist for details or call our intake line 303 225 2708 extension 1 to request more information.
Wilderness Therapy
Boulder Emotional Wellness, an affordable psychotherapy clinic, shares clinical staff with HealingQuest, a provider of wilderness based therapeutic experiences. Due to the specialized training of therapists and field staff, and the logistics of overnight wilderness trips, this type of therapy can be expensive. While HealingQuest trips are comparable in price to other wilderness therapy companies, clients should expect fees in excess of $400 per day. While many wilderness therapy companies place clients in groups, HealingQuest offers individual trips for break-through experiences.
HealingQuest has facilitated 4 to 21 day trips in many states and all seasons, and included rock climbing, hiking, camping, solos, dog-sledding, horse packing, white water rafting, and flat water sea kayak adventures.
Please see the HealingQuest website for more information.
