A wilderness experience can take many forms. Trips can be day trips or multiple days. HealingQuest will facilitate with as few as a single person or as many as eight. On trips, individual and group therapy are available depending on the group or individual's goals.

\ Amy has been working with people as an educator and clinician for ten years. She has worked as a therapist on 21-day wilderness expeditions with at-risk adolescents, as well as in outpatient settings, schools, and at a detoxification center. Prior to her counseling career Amy was a science and outdoor educator with youth in the Pacific Northwest. Amy currently has a private practice, and is a guide with the Women’s Wilderness Institute in Boulder. She received her MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy, from Naropa University. Amy combines her love of the outdoors with a belief that we hold our strongest potentials to be whole, open, and happy when we are in consistent contact with nature.

 Field Director and Therapist\

Andrew is a seasoned therapist, outdoor leader, teacher, and guide. Besides NOLS Winter Camping, NOLS Outdoor Educator, and Outward Bound Dog Sled trips, Andrew has 5 years of outdoor leadership experience, with advanced skills in backcountry navigation, snow camping, skiing, canoeing and rock climbing. Through teaching high school and guiding adolescents in recovery, Andrew acquired experience and counseling skills that support HealingQuest’s outdoor ethics, values, and clinical themes. Andrew is certified in outdoor safety and rescue, including Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (W-EMT), and has field experience with adolescent wilderness recovery programs in Arizona, Nevada, and Utah. Andrew has degrees in Secondary School Education (San Francisco State University) and Transpersonal Counseling Psychology concentrating in Wilderness Therapy (MA Naropa University, 2008), and a BA from Cornell University, 1991.

Seeking Wilderness Therapists & Field Instructors

\

HealingQuest is seeking experienced wilderness therapists and field instructors. We are a wilderness therapy company offering adjunct services to clients who are currently in a therapeutic relationship, and the populations we work with include adults who are recovering from trauma, addictions, extreme states, and families in distress. Our trips are catered to suit each group of individuals, and range from one day front-country activities to five days in a wilderness area in Colorado, Wyoming, or Utah.
